PolicyZen, Inc. ("PolicyZen," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the PolicyZen mobile application.

We collect information you provide directly to us, including:

• Account information (name, email address, password)
• Insurance policy documents you upload or photograph
• Questions and messages you submit to the AI assistant
• Usage data and crash reports to improve the app

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and improve the PolicyZen service
• Extract and organize your insurance policy data using AI
• Answer your coverage questions using your own documents
• Send important notifications about your policies (expiration dates, etc.)
• Respond to your support requests

3. Document Storage and AI Processing

Documents you upload are stored securely using Supabase, a SOC 2 compliant cloud platform. Your policy documents are processed by AI to extract coverage details. Document content is used only to answer your questions and is never used to train AI models or shared with third parties for advertising purposes.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

• Service providers necessary to operate the app (cloud storage, AI processing)
• Legal obligations when required by law

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Your documents are stored in a private, access-controlled database linked to your account only.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us at privacy@policyzen.ai.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. California residents have additional rights under the CCPA, including the right to know what personal information we collect and how it's used.

8. Children's Privacy

PolicyZen is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or email.
