Please read these Terms carefully before using PolicyZen. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
PolicyZen is a personal insurance document organizer that uses artificial intelligence to help you understand your insurance policies. PolicyZen is not an insurance company, insurance agent, insurance broker, licensed insurance advisor, or financial advisor. We do not sell, underwrite, or modify insurance policies.
PolicyZen uses artificial intelligence (including GPT-4o by OpenAI) to read and interpret your insurance documents and respond to your questions.
AI can make mistakes. Responses may be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, or incorrect. This is a known limitation of all AI systems.
Always verify with your carrier. Before making any decisions based on PolicyZen — including coverage determinations, claim eligibility, deductibles, limits, or exclusions — you must verify the information directly with your insurance carrier or a licensed insurance professional.
Your policy document controls. In all cases, the actual terms of your insurance policy as issued by your carrier are the authoritative source of truth. If there is any conflict between what PolicyZen says and your actual policy, your policy controls.
PolicyZen makes no representations or warranties regarding the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any AI-generated content.
PolicyZen does not determine whether a claim is covered or payable under any insurance policy. Coverage decisions are made solely by your insurance carrier in accordance with your policy terms. Do not rely on PolicyZen to make coverage decisions, file claims, or evaluate whether to file a claim.

Your uploaded documents are stored securely and encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest (AES-256). Documents may be processed by third-party AI providers (including OpenAI) to generate responses. We do not sell your personal information to third parties. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
By using PolicyZen, you agree that we may use anonymized, aggregated, de-identified data derived from user interactions — including types of questions asked, policy categories, and general coverage patterns — to improve our services, conduct insurance research, and develop analytics products. This data cannot be used to identify you personally. No personally identifiable information, policy documents, or account details are shared with third parties for these purposes.
Free tier includes 2 policies and 5 AI questions per month. Premium subscriptions are billed through Apple App Store or Google Play and auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Refunds are subject to Apple App Store or Google Play policies. PolicyZen does not process payments directly.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, PolicyZen, Inc., its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including damages arising from reliance on AI-generated content, coverage disputes with your carrier, or financial losses resulting from decisions made based on app content.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless PolicyZen, Inc. from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the app, your violation of these Terms, or your reliance on AI-generated content without independent verification.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Orange County, California.
